Tension mounts in Gbarnga

Tension is reportedly mounting in some communities in Bong County over the discovery of an eleven year old- girl found dead on Sunday, January 18, with several parts missing.

Eleven year old Dailey Gbapue was reported to have been sent by a neighbour to purchase an item, but did not return home until she was found dead.

Little Dailey Gbapue’s body parts, including vagina, ears, and nose were all missing when her body was discovered in Gbarnga.

As a result of the situation, residents of the county  called for a speedy investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Police in Gbarnga are currently investigating the death of the little girl.

One person (name still withheld), in connection with the murder of little Dailey Gbapue has already been arrested and detained.

On Wednesday, January 21, parents and relatives of the deceased visited the local offices of the Catholic Justice and Peace commission (JPC), as well as engaged community radio stations in Bong County to stimulate the ongoing police investigation.
