Three In Critical Condition

At least 3 persons are reported to be in critical conditions following a tragic motor accident on the Voinjama- Kolahum highway in Lofa County.

According to our correspondent, the wounded passengers were transferred from the accident scene to the Kolahum Hospital for treatment, but there have been no progress reports on their status.

However, 7 of the 10 passengers on board the mini bus which was involved in the tragic motor accident have been discharged by doctors at the Koluhan Hospital following examinations. Some of the passengers told this paper that the accident was a result of excessive speeding and sleeping by the driver while driving, adding that this caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

They said the driver was advised not to drive having noticed, that he was tired, but he refused to listen to anybody, claiming that he was capable of travelling and that nothing would have happened.

They said the incident took place around 12: a.m on Wednesday, while heading to Foya near the Liberia/Sierra Leone border. The vehicle was said to have veered off the road into the valley somersaulting twice, while the driver of the vehicle is reported to be on the run and is being search for by the police who confirmed the accident.
