Two armed robbers face court in Bong


The Liberian National Police (LNP) Bong County detachment has charged and sent to Court two suspects for alleged armed robbery in the County. Addressing a news conference recently at the LNP office in the County, Crime Services Division (CSD) Commander John K. Flomo says complainant Titus Kollie accused suspects Alfred Sayah and Samuel Cole of attempting to steal his motorbike under gunpoint.


Officer Flomo indicates that during police investigation, complainant Kollie reported that suspects Sayah and Cole asked him (Kollie) to carry them in Samay Town in Bong Electoral District #2 in search of their stolen motorbike.

According to Officer Flomo, while they were en route to the town, the suspects asked the victim to stop the motorbike on the highway to allow them to defecate in the bush.

He says after few minutes, the suspects returned from the bush armed with a single borrow pistol and pointing it at the motorcyclist.He says the suspects were demanding victim Kollie to give them his motorbike or they would kill him.

Commander Flomo adds that due to fear, victim Kollie left the motorbike with the alleged robbers and started alarming.The victim was rescued by some farmers in the area, the officer adds. The citizens arrested the two suspects in possession of the gun and the motorbike and subsequently turned him over to the police.

Officer Flomo has lauded the citizens of Zensueclan in District #2 for arresting and subsequently turning over the two suspects.The accused Alfred Sayah and Samuel Cole are said to have agreed to the commission of the crime, and have appealed to the police for mercy.
