Two Dead, Several Unaccounted For

A canoe is reported to have  capsized last Friday on the Cestos River between Yarnee and Timbo Districts in Rivercess County, South-eastern Liberia, leaving two persons dead and  several others unaccounted for or feared dead.

Correspondent Obediah Swen said those unaccounted for in the accident are Princess and Helen Toe.

According to him, the cause of the accident was not made known, but there were unofficial reports that the canoe may have been over-loaded with goods and 13-passengers amidst heavy rain and storm.

Of the 13-passengers, at least 8 were reportedly rescued by fishermen who were immediately called-in when the accident occurred.
