Two Grabbed for Transporting Marijuana

Police in Grand Gedeh County have confirmed the arrest and detention two persons for transporting 10 bags of marijuana. Those reported to have been nabbed are Sidiki Konneh and Alfred Kollie.  The two are expected to face trial in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

They were arrested at a checkpoint in Foah Town in Grand Gedeh. The 10 marijuana bags were discovered on a pick-up truck heading towards Zwedru from Monrovia. The whereabouts of the driver is still unknown.

Narcotic drug growers here are on the increase as many people see the business as fast and lucrative with very little been done by incapacitated Drugs Enforcement Agency and other security agencies at border and checkpoints to curb such trade.

Areas in Liberia where marijuana is largely grown are Lofa, Bong, Nimba, Margibi and Grand Bassa Counties.
