Two Publishers Qualified For VP Election

The Ad-Hoc Elections Committee of the Publishers Association (PAL) has qualified two candidates to contest the vacant Vice President position of the organization.


According to a press release from the Committee, the Managing Editor of the Corruption Watch Newspaper, Roland Worwee and Sam Dean, Managing Editor of the Independent Newspaper have been qualified to vie for the position.

The release disclosed that the third candidate, Samuel Doe of the Nation Builder Newspaper was disqualified because he did not meet the financial requirement of the Elections Committee’s guideline.

Meanwhile, the PAL’s Ad-Hoc Elections Committee has declared campaign opened and that it will close on April 19, 2018 at 12 midnight. The press release said the election will take place on Friday, April 20; beginning at 8am and will end at 3pm at the offices of the Concord Times Newspaper on Ashmun Street.

The PAL Elections Committee said it invites the Press Union of Liberia and all media rights groups in the country to observe the polls. At the same time, the Committee has released the list of PAL institutional membership as follows:
