U.S.based Liberian Muslim’s donates US$30,000

A prominent Liberian Muslim residing in the United States of America (USA) Mr. JangaKanneh has contributed over US$30,000 toward construction of a two-storey school building for the Jallabah English/Arabic School System on Camp Johnson Road in Central Monrovia.

The financial support from Mr. Kanneh followed prolonged closure of the institute, which experienced serious setback. The school is the only Muslim institution that has operated in the area since 1999 with a previous enrolment of 400 students.

Disclosing this to reporters recently, the head Iman of the Camp Johnson Road Mosque, Mohammed V. Dukuly said, the Muslim community in Liberia is highly gratified by the gesture of Mr. Kanneh, whose contribution to education he said, will always be remembered.

ImanDukuly said the current campus contains six classrooms with plans to add another floor for use by adults who desire to pursue education. He indicated that currently a junior high, administration has plan to hire qualified teachers to teach both English and Arabic, and called on Liberian Muslims in other parts of the world to emulate the good example of Mr. JangaKanneh whose interest in education will not go unnoticed.
