UCOW trains trainers in Margibi

The United Churches of the World or UCOW has ended a one day trainer of trainer workshop in Kakata, Margibi County.

Speaking to this paper in Kakata recently, one of the trainers Madam Lesole M. McGill, said the workshop was aimed at educating trainers who will impact knowledge to other residents of Margibi on how to live a better or improved life and also become self-employed or employers.

The training which occurred on May 13, 2014 in Vai Town Community in Kakata, brought together young men and women from various parts of the county, Madam McGill noted.

She said the beneficiaries learned about tie and dye, soap making, pastry, carpentry and driving as well as other disciplines of their interest, adding that the training was not first of its kind in Margibi County. Madam McGill added that this particular phase of the training was done in collaboration with UNMIL as one of its quick impact project.

“The organization has graduated beneficiaries more than three times and those people are now living a better life”, she narrated. According to her, UCOW also has a branch in Gbarnga, Bong County which is also doing similar training for residents there. “Our benefit is to train people and see them living better life”, Madam McGill concluded.
