UP official resigns

Former Bong County Inspector William Kollie has with immediate effect resigned from the ruling Unity Party or UP.

In his letter of resignation dated March 28, 2017, a copy of which is in the possession of the New Dawn’s Bong County, Mr. Kollie said he wants to be himself and operate as independent thinker, something which suggests that as an official of the UP, one does not operate with an independent mind.

Mr. Kollie served the Unity Party as Chairman for the Wings of Ambassador Joseph Boakai and Co-Chair for Electoral District #5 in Bong County for about eight consecutive years.

Mr.Kollie thanked President Sirleaf and auxiliary groups of the Party, while at the same time appreciating the leadership of the Party for serving the dual capacities since 2005.

Mr. Kollie in his resignation letter also lauded the Liberian Leader for appointing him as County Inspector.

Copies of Mr. Kollie’s resignation letter were addressed to the National Chairman of the Unity Party, partisans of the party in Bong County and media institutions as well.
