Urey warns Weah

The opposition All Liberia Party (ALP) Standard Bearer Benoni Urey is calling on Coalition for Democratic Coalition (CDC) Standard Bearer Senator George Weah to warn his supporters to reframe from violence. Mr. Urey made the call on 25 October in Monrovia during a press conference.

He stresses that Senator Weah as a young man should speak out against violence and keep his supporters in check. The sharp warning comes after a vocally abusive talk show host and supporter of Mr. Urey was allegedly attacked in Monrovia this week for criticizing Weah.
The victim blames Weah’s supporters for the attack, but the National Youth Wing Chair of the Coalition dismisses the claim and condemns the attack.

The ALP Standard Bearer continues that Senator Weah is treading a very dangerous path with those associating with him. Urey says he does not know Senator Weah to be a violent person, adding that Liberia needs peace and not violence.

He reminds Senator Weah that not everyone would vote or support his political bid. CDC Jefferson Koijii says the attack on the talk show host is wrong and warns all supporters of Weah to reframe from any act that would endanger the peace of the country.
