Used Car Dealer Gets L$250,000 Richer

Mrs. Asata Kaba, 36, last Friday emerged as the sixth weekly prize winner of the ongoing Lonestar Cell/MTN text and win promotion, walking away with LD250, 000.00 after sending 20 SMS to the 3310 code.

The text and win is part of the GSM operator three months exciting and unprecedented 4-in-1 promotion launched in December 2011. Mrs. Kaba GSM number surfaced to a white projected screen during the sixth edition of the draw, which was held at Lonestar Cell/MTN Vai Town, Bushrod Island branch.

Mrs. Kabah, a used car dealer around the Fish Market in Sinkor is a mother of three, (two boys and one girl), and has been a scriber of the Lone Star-MTN for about eight years now.

She told journalists in an interview after receiving the cash prize that she would use the money to improve her business. The pride winner said the move to infuse the prize amount into her business will always remind her about the GSM Company and the change it has brought to her.

Other winners from last week’s draw were Tom Taweh and Douglas King Homadi of Mamba Point and Bong Mine Bridge respectively. Both men collected cash prizes of LD70, 000 each on Tuesday and Thursday, While John Manigan of Gardnerville also collected 49,000 on Wednesday.

Amongst those who have won cash prizes from the draw are Mrs. Shelia B. Kenneh, a Liberian business woman. She received a cash prize of L$250,000.00, after sending 20 SMS to the 3310 code.

Mrs. Kenneh became L$250,000.00 richer on January 13, 2012, this was after her number surfaced to a white projected screen during the January 13, 2012 edition of the draw which was held at Lonestar Cell/MTN Red-Light, Paynesville branch.

It can be recalled, Lonestar Cell/MTN on December 5, 2011 launched four exciting promotions named and styled 4-in-1.

Launching the promotions at the Company’s Congo Town office in Monrovia, Lonestar Cell/MTN Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Mr. Clement Ofori Asante stated that the offer is a real demonstration of Liberia premier GSM operator’s commitment to leading the way in availing innovative services.

“Innovation is one of our core values as a brand and this value drives us within the line of business and services,” Mr. Asante averred.

The 4-in-1 promotion, which is expected to run for at least three months, will serve as a unique platform on which Lonestar Cell/MTN subscribers will choose a perfect holiday gift for themselves and their relations.

The unprecedented 4-in-1 promotions include text and win, registered and win, buy a US$29.00 LG phone and recharge frequently to win 50% of whatever air time one may use and the offer of an incredible G2101 phone for only US$20.00.

Text and win is the biggest of all, as it is a means by which Lonestar Cell/MTN has resolved to give out over L$10 million in cash and airtime during the three months.

According to Mr. Asante, Text and win is also an exciting Short Message Sending (SMS) based game that gives subscribers, who choose to play a fair chance  to win daily, weekly and monthly cash prizes. He further explained that customers wishing to play the game must send an SMS with the word win to short code 3310.

The Lonestar Cell/MTN CMO added, “Thereafter, the game starts and the customer will receive various educative questions to answer via SMS. Anytime the customer answers sent questions he or she increases the chance of winning a cash prize, should their number be drawn in the daily, weekly or monthly draws.”

Mr.  Asante maintained that 20 subscribers will win L$500.00 airtime each, Mondays through Saturdays, while one subscriber will win up to L$70,000.00 Mondays through Thursdays.

“One Subscriber will win up to L$250,000.00 every week, while another lucky subscriber will pocket at least L$500,000.00 every month besides a grand prize of L$1,000,000.00 to be won by a lucky customer at the end of the promotion,” Mr. Asante disclosed.
