Liberia’s last season premiership Golden Boot winner Vatali Sie of Israeli national league delegation Hapoel Nazareth Illit is yet to down a goal since his entrance into professional football.
Sie won the Liberia Football Association top netter award after scoring 15 goals in 19 matches of the one phase premiership and was impressive during LISCR FC Charity Cup tournament played at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium here at which he was watched by Israeli scout and subsequently selected for the deal in Israel.
Vatali arrived at the club to replace fellow Liberian and former teammate Amos Kollie, who was contracted by Israeli premiership outfit Hapoel Haifa for this season.
Sie played 65 minutes of the club away fixture to Hakoach Maccabi Amidar that ended 2-1 against them on 22/08/11. He was dressed for 70 minutes during the home fixture against Hapoel Ashkelon, but they were flogged 2-1 again on 27/08/11.
The Liberian however was in the line-up to face Maccabi Beer Sheva that whipped them 1-0 away on 10/09/11 and he occasioned 85 minutes of that away clash. The Liberian current Golden Boot holder appeared in 73 minutes of the away battle to Sektzya Ness Ziona on 16/09/11 when they won their first game 3-1.
The club managed a 1-0 home running over visiting side Hapoel Jerusalem on 24/09/11, but the former LISCR FC forward was until to register his first goal of the season. They secured a 0-0 away game to Maccabi Ahi Nazareth on 01/10/11 and will battle in the FA cup fixture midweek.
The Liberian is currently playing on three yellow cards as a striker, although he is yet to make a score, other Liberians at the club are also facing the same situation. Ben Martin is another Liberian yet to score for the club; he played at the club last season and was retained for this season. Both strikers are yet to score in the national league or that country’s FA Cup fixtures.
