Veteran police officer ends earthly journey

Members of the Kamara family wept bitterly Monday, 22 December as they gathered at the Abraham Roberts Funeral Home opposite the Stephen A. Tolbert Estate in Gardnersville, suburb of Monrovia to bid their fallen husband, father, brother and uncle, the late Fath Sam Sanpher Kamara, 67, farewell as he took his final journey.

The late Kamara was a retired Colonel of the Liberia National Police. He also served at several State security agencies here, including the National Bureau of Investigation, Interpol, CID and host of private security agencies. He served the Government of the Republic of Liberia for 35 years and was retired officially in 2005.

The funeral rites was characterized by songs, scripture readings and tributes from friends, sympathizers, community residents, the Liberia National Police and National Bureau of Investigation, Churches, including Living Hope International Ministries and the bereaved family. Hawa Kamara, daughter of the deceased wept uncontrollably throughout the funeral rites, and was repeatedly consoled by her brother, Sam, and other family members.

From the funeral home, family members and sympathizers escorted the body to upper Caldwell for burial. The late Fath Sam Sanpher Kamara is survived by five children, including Sam, Lily, Hawa, Fasiah, and his widow.
