He made the call recently at a dedicatory ceremony for a health center and two school buildings in Ganta, Nimba County, initiated by Representative Jeremiah Koung. Mr. Boakai described the undertaking as remarkable, noting that Nimbaians are involved with self-help development which is helping to impact lives of citizens.

He commended the people of Nimba for the level of development they are involved with, and noted that the projects dedicated will bring relief to the people. He said Nimbaians would no longer have to cover long distances to have access to basic services.

The Vice President also stressed a need for citizens to help government by undertaking self-help development in their areas. He said the country needs more schools, hospitals and banks, among other institutions so that the citizens can be employed and empowered.
