WAEC Liberia releases 2019 exams timetable

The West African ExaminationsCouncil (WAEC) Liberia Office releases timetable for the 2019 West African Senior SchoolCertificate Examinations or WASSCE exams which is expected to be administered throughout the country from April 24 to May 20, 2019.

According to WAEC Monrovia Office, the examinations are expected to last for five weeks, administered to 12th graders across Liberia.

Releasing the 2019 WASSCE timetable in Monrovia last week, WAEC says early publication of the schedule is intended toafford school administrators and candidates an opportunity toadequately prepare for the public test.

WAEC also encourages stakeholders to make maximum use of the timetableby ensuring that students adhere strictly to the time and datespecified in the schedule during the administration of the exams.

However, the Council says it will, in keeping with its policy,institute the requisite measures in dealing with those who willattempt to breach examination’s protocols.

The timetable details the WASSCE examination will commence on
Wednesday, April 24, with practical and physical Geography and end on Monday, May 20, with Chemistry.

WAEC says objective test, essay, practice work, and oral examination will be used to evaluate candidates’ performance.

The results of 855 out of a total 33,124 candidates, who wrote the WASSCE in 2018, were withheld by WAEC Liberia for alleged examinationmalpractices.

The Council reveals the affected candidates were found culpable of violating basic rules governing the conduct ofthe examination, including use of foreign materials, likecellphones, among others.
