Watanga FC begins in grand style

As the 2019 Liberia Football Association (LFA) national league kickoff in and around Morava, Watanga FC has won its first game 2-1 over Small Town in Kakata, Margibi County.

Small Town took a lead in the 19 minutes, and Abel Cuch Quioh (King Yellow) placed the ball at the back of the empty net after a rebound, making the first half a 1-1 draw.

But in the second half, Sully Elijah got the second goal for Watanga FC from the penalty spot, putting the team ahead of Small Town.Coach Matthew Julutweh introduced newly signed Theo Nimely, while Malachi Coker was preferred to Albert Nyanti Nimely.

Swift feet striker Zuma Kuyateh made his official debut for Watanga when the former FC Fassell Hitman was introduced in the 60 minutes, replacing impressive Theo Nimely.

Meanwhile in other games, the table leaders LPRC Oilers whitewashed FC Fassell 8-0 and the defending Champions BYC demolished point’s donor Keitrace FC 5-1.

LISCR remained second on superior goal difference while BYC remained in the third position.

Nimba United and Monrovia Club Breweries FC settled to a 1-1 draw while Church boys Jubilee recorded her second win in a row in a hard earn 2-1 win against Nimba United.By Sally Gaye
