Weah begins regional tour

President George Manneh Weah has departed Liberia for Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and Accra, Ghana, respectively on a four-day State visit beginning 4 April through 7 April.

An Executive Mansion release says President Weah along with delegation arrived in Abidjan on Wednesday, 4 April and will leave for Accra, Ghana on 6 April for a day’s visit.

While in Abidjan and Accra, President Weah is expected to meet his Ivorian and Ghanaian counterparts, President Alassane Quattara of Ivory Coast and President Nana Ado-Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relationships that exist between Liberia and the two host countries.

President Weah is also expected to use his visits to explore avenues for investments in an effort to enhance trade between Liberia and Ivory Coast on the one hand and Liberia and Ghana on the other.

He will also discuss issues concerning the promotion of peace within the ECOWAS region as well as cross-border security issues affecting both Liberia and Ivory Coast.

He is accompanied by Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah, Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, Information Minister Eugene Nagbe, Transport Minister Sam Wlue and Minister of State Without Portfolio Trokon Kpui.

Others include LPRC Managing Director Madame Nyemade Pearson, and Presidential Press Secretary Sam Mannah, among others.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel Farlo McGill will chair the Cabinet in consultation with Vice President Jewel Howard – Taylor and via mobile phone with the President.–Press release
