Weala deserves city status

A partial view of Weala and Mr. Andrew Yancy, Stein Bock Block Manager An eminent citizen of Weala in Electoral District Five, Margibi County has described Weala as one of the fastest growing communities in Liberia that deserves a city status.


Weala is specifically found in Cinta Township, district#5 with thousands of inhabitants. Speaking with reporters recently on wide range of issues, Mr. Andrew Yancy, Block Manager of Stein Bock Liberia Limited, said comparing Weala to other provincial cities that he has travelled to in Liberia, the former stands a better chance in gaining city status.

He said within the vicinity of Weala, there are lots of senior high schools, modernized health centers, good road network and organized business centers, amongst others.
Mr. Yancy maintained that in terms of security, the area has branches of various national security apparatus, including an organized community watch forum along with several private security guard services.

He narrated that majority of the citizens he speaks with on a daily basis agreed that Weala deserves a city status because the area is developing very rapidly. He also indicated that within the surroundings of Weala, are Salala Rubber Corporation or SRC, Stein Bock and MHM as well as two professional radio stations, among other facilities.
According the Stein Bock Block Manager, relative to development, Weala is far ahead of Salala in Bong County, which is a city.

Prior to his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Margib County Representative James Emmanuel Nuquay, whose constituency covers Weala, said he was working with the citizens to ensure the area gains city status.
