Yeah-ooo, my people. Da me again-o. Da me Pekin Paul. My mou’h na scared seh – I can put my mou’h in everything and on everything. You like it, jacko; you na like it, Jack-o’-Lantern. Da me say so?
My people, I have been wondering about the kind of language we will speak in heaven. I don’t want to believe that the beings in heaven don’t communicate. They have some form or kind of language that they use to communicate. Even if they were all deaf – “bobo” – they would use some form of sign language. How does God call his angels, if not through some kind of language? How does he give them instructions for tasks they have to perform, if not through some kind of language?
What I am not sure of is whether we all will speak one language when we get to heaven, or we will speak different languages. If God wants peace and unity to exist in heaven, then he has to make us speak a single language up there. Let him force a single language on us, and when we get there, we should just start speaking it whether we like it or not. On the other hand, if God allows us to retain our original languages in heaven, then he will be looking for his own trouble. Da me say so.
If God, for example, allows the Bassa people to keep their language, if he allows the Kru people to keep theirs, the Gio people to keep theirs, or the Mandingo people to keep theirs, then da na small problem will be in heaven because, soon, the Bassa people will want to form a clique. The Kru people will want to do the same. The Gio people or the Mandingo people will want to do the same. And, then soon, there will be Bassa Community or Quarter in heaven and also Mandingo Community, Kru Community, Kpelle Community, Gio Community, Mano Quarter, Gbandi Quarter, Lorma Community and so forth. There could also be Chinese Quarter, Indian Community, American Community and English Community. Da na trouble here, my people?
Soon, the Kru people and the Rivercess people could start fussing over boundary, laying complaints to God and calling him now and then to settle disputes. I say this because these tribes could start thinking about setting up Lofa County, Nimba County, Rivercess County, Ground Kru County, Ground Cape Mount County, and so forth in heaven.
That’s not all. Soon, the Bassa people could start talking about how they are missing dumboy or fufu. Soon, too, the Gio and Mano people could start talking about how they are missing gayhn-kpa. Soon, also, the Vai people could start talking about how they are missing gbah-sah-yama. Soon, also, the Mandingo people could start talking about how they are missing moni-kala-ma.
God better force a single language on us if he wants peace in heaven. Already, I Corinthians 13:1 says that angels have a specific language. It is my belief that he will do the same for us if he wants peace and unity in heaven.
Seriously, my people, aren’t these points to ponder?
