What’s in the EPS, Police reportd

EPSPresident Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has received the Special Investigative Report on the January 9, 2016 tussle between some officers of the Executive Protection Service (EPS) and the Liberia National Police.

It can be recalled that during the funeral of fallen Ambassador Rudolph von Ballmoos on Saturday, January 9, 2016, a tussle ensued between the EPS and officers assigned to Police Inspector General, Col. Chris Massaquoi.

President Sirleaf will present and discuss the report with a select team of the National Security Council in order to derive a consensus on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Investigative Report.

President Sirleaf then thanked the 3-member Investigative Committee headed by Cllr. T. Max Duncan, Sister Mary Laurene Browne and Atty. Alvin T. Jalloh for executing the Presidential directive to investigate the January 9 incident between agents the Executive Protection Service and officers of the Liberia National Police.

Meanwhile, President Sirleaf has appointed former Information Minister, Hon. Lewis G. Brown as Liberia’s Ambassador to the United Nations with assignment in New York, United States of America. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

Former Information Minister, Brown served as Government’s Chief Spokesman from 2012 to 2016 and was the fourth Minister of Information under President Sirleaf’s Administration.
