Woman beats step-son to death

Police in Ganta, Nimba County have arrested a 28year old woman for allegedly beating to death her 16-year-old step-son. The incident occurred in Glenyeluu Community, Ganta City on April 13, 2016. An eyewitness told our Nimba County correspondent suspect Yei Taylor, a resident of the community, had accused the victim, Jacob Vakun for allegedly stealing her parboiled fish, which led her to beat on him unmercifully, causing his demise.

Eyewitnesses said after discovering that her fish has been stolen, suspect Yei Taylor subsequently entered the room of the deceased where she allegedly took his cashbox, opened it and took away 300 Liberian Dollars before flogging him severely.

The late Jacob Vakun was pronounced dead by Doctors at the Ganta United Methodist Hospital in Nimba. Meanwhile, the dead body of a 48-year-oldman has been discovered in Jacob Town community, outside Ganta City.

The deceased only identified as Zainpur, was a resident of the community, who had allegedly followed a friend to drink at a local entertainment spot, but returned home, complaining of stomach pain and subsequently died in his room Police in Ganta City have been called upon to probe the cause of death of 48-year-old Zainpur.
