Woman Kills Boyfriend, Commits Suicide

A Liberian woman is reported to have shot dead her boyfriend Darron Orlando Davis, before turning the gun on herself on Thursday, the Charlotte Observer reported Saturday. The paper said Edris Gbarlee Juyenneh Davis, 22, called 911 on Thursday evening and told the local police that she ahd shot her boyfriend and hung up the phone.

The Charlotte Observer: “When officers arrived at her northeast Charlotte apartment, police said, they found a 22-year-old Liberian woman, Edris Gbarlee Juyenneh Davis, dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A man had been shot several times.

The man, 23-year-old Darron Orlando Davis, died as a result of his wounds late Thursday, police said. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police haven’t said what led to the shooting at the Park Creek Apartments on Perth Court, off Milton Road. Officers said they have no reason to believe anyone else was involved. It was termed a domestic violence-related shooting. About 5:20 p.m., several people called 911 from the area after hearing gunshots from inside a nearby apartment.

Police said they believe Edris Gbarlee Juyenneh Dickson shot Davis, her boyfriend, several times, then turned the gun on herself. Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis died at Carolinas Medical Center.

Crime-scene tape surrounded several apartment units Friday evening as police investigated. Many residents stood outside watching as investigators took photos of the apartment where the shooting happened. Police closed the door behind them each time they walked in and out of the apartment.

A neighbor told the Observer that Dickson, daughter of one Doris Bartee of Georgia, was a “sweet girl” who had recently moved into the apartment.
