The man, 23-year-old Darron Orlando Davis, died as a result of his wounds late Thursday, police said. Police said they believe Edris Gbarlee Juyenneh Dickson shot Davis, her boyfriend, several times, then turned the gun on herself. Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis died at Carolinas Medical Center.
Crime-scene tape surrounded several apartment units Friday evening as police investigated. Many residents stood outside watching as investigators took photos of the apartment where the shooting happened. Police closed the door behind them each time they walked in and out of the apartment.
A neighbor told the Observer that Dickson, daughter of one Doris Bartee of Georgia, was a “sweet girl” who had recently moved into the apartment.
