All seems not to be well at the Liberia Wrestling Federation as its President, George Gould, continues to come under attack for alleged mismanaging of funds allotted to the federation.
A compliant signed by 20 officials of the federation claimed Mr. Gould has terribly failed to account for funds both from the Government of Liberia and international wresting federations.
The complaint, which has already been submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Liberia National Olympic Committee, accused Mr. Gould of single-handedly operating the federation.
The document said for the past five years, the federation has been without an office space, including calendar of events for both national and international and membership.
“We deem it necessary that with these complains, we don’t trust Mr. Gould anymore and will no longer work with him as President of the federation”, the compliant said.
When contacted, Mr. Gould refused to comment on the allegation on grounds that the issue is currently before the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Liberia National Olympic Committee.
“I am not willing to comment on the matter because authority of the ministry has summoned us for hearing. And I will highly appreciate where you the media to follow up the matter for better understanding and reporting”, he said.
