8 Nimba Community College staff charged with theft

Police in Sanniquellie, Nimba County have arrested and charged eight employees of the Nimba County Community College along with two businessmen with theft of properties. Five additional emloyees of the college are undergoing police investigation.

According to the police charge sheet, the eight defendants were arrested for allegedly stealing nine bundles of Zinc, 100 begs of cement and 33 plastic chairs belonging to the college.

Those arrested and sent to court include Jimmy Fayiah, 32, head of security; Ericson Gbeiclah, 28, businessman and Alvin Yini, among others.

The president of the Nimba County Community College, Dr Yah Donlah Gonway Gono, told The NewDawn Nimba correspondent that on 31 December 2014, the defendants stole the items.
Recently, unknown men reportedly broke into the college and took away 83,000 Liberians Dollars with no arrest made so far.
