Another Arson Attack

A 4-bedroom house was set ablaze early Saturday in the Kebbah Community behind the Barnersville Housing Estate, suburb of Monrovia by unknown persons, but neither death nor arrest has made in the aftermath.

According to some occupants of the apartment, the attackers committed the act at dawn with heavy sporadic shooting, using AK-47 raffles.

โ€œThey used petroleum bomb to set the house ablaze. The heavy shooting sound got us confused to the extent that nobody knows where to run for safety,โ€ one of the dejected occupants said.

Another stated: โ€œWe are homeless without anything to wear. It was some relatives and friends who are trying to accommodate us in order to have a piece of mind.โ€

The burned house is not too far from Defense Minister Brownie Samukaโ€™s residence in Diggsville. This might have been the fourth arson attacks on both private and public buildings during this electioneering period.

The first incident occurred at the home of Eugene Nagbe, Deputy Campaign Manager of the governing Unity Party in Bernard Farm, followed by the UPโ€™s District five (5) office all within Paynesville.

The third attack was against the Sarafina Venture Communication Incorporated, a conglomeration of Love FM radio, Television and the Liberian Journal newspaper.
