Opposition Liberian’s People Party (LPP) has termed as baseless, unfounded, and reckless a media publication against its standard bearer Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe claiming his expulsion from the party.
“LPP denounces the reckless story published by the Daily Guide Newspaper in its Thursday, July 6, 2023, Vol. 1 #7 edition under the bold banner headline, “Exposed, Tiawan Gongloe Expelled from LPP For Deception”. This is completely reckless, baseless, unfounded, and cheap propaganda,” the party noted.
According to a statement released Sunday, July 9, 2023, under the signature of Mr. Leon M. Talery of the LPP Secretariat, the paper failed to state a single reason for the purported expulsion of Cllr. Gongloe from the LPP.
He indicated that the LPP wants to make it clear that at no time Cllr. Gongloe was expelled from the LPP neither had he served any disciplinary action as a member of the Party.
The party clarified that no partisans of the LPP were expelled in 1997 as mentioned in the Daily Guide Newspaper.
“We live in a society where some media practitioners are more concerned about filling the depth of their pockets rather than their integrity or the value of the profession. Such is the case of one Martin C. Benson of the Daily Guide who spewed out wreckage of his failed journalism career to earn crumbs at the expense of Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe and the LPP” the statesmen pointed out.
LPP indicated that the Daily Guide Newspaper publication is nothing but pure sleazy and crooked journalism for the perverted interest of a failed journalist.
LPP, however, called on the Press Union of Liberia to ensure that its member institutions are rigorously checkmated to uphold the credibility of the media.

The party disclosed that it is not surprised by the attack on Cllr. Gongloe personality by a cheap hired pen, adding that no number of fake publications and manipulative journalism sponsored by their opponents will change the minds of the thousands of Liberians who have resolved to make Cllr. Gongloe President of Liberia.
He stated that the political indicators are clear that the only best alternative to redeem the Liberian people from the unbearable conditions under Weah’s regime is Cllr. Gongloe and the Liberian People Party.
“Therefore, LPP calls on all partisans, sympathizers, and well-wishers to keep propagating the Better Liberia Agenda of Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe as we approach the October 10 elections. Cllr. Gongloe is the most experienced candidate with unquestionable integrity and an unblemished track record in public service” Mr. Talery concluded.
