Customs Brokers Launches Rally

The National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia or NCBAL, Monday August 22, launched a fund-raising rally for the construction of a modern three-storey building headquarters.

According to the President of the NCBAL, Ivan I. F. Tumbey, it was time that his organization own an office and stop renting from others, describing the organization as a credible institution in the country.

He said the biggest dream of all Brokers in Liberia was for a headquarters, stressing that if Customs Brokers in other countries can built their own headquarters, Liberian Customs Brokers too can do the same and not to depend on the government because the government cannot do it all.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the rally committee, James L. Hinneh II, encouraged members to get involved in the building process and support the organization. He also said the project was not about the leadership of the organization, but the association, calling on all of its members to contribute to the project.

He said no country can survive without its tax payment by its citizens, saying the organization will not survive without the help of its members. The Chief Launcher of the rally, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sea Land Marine Cargo, Muka K. Kamara, also encouraged the association’s members to contribute to the project because it was not about the organization, but Liberia. He also contributed US$1,800.00 United State Dollars.- By Bridgett Milton
