Global Leadership Ends Forum in Margibi

The Global Leadership Summit, an international group, has ended two-day consultative forum in Kakata, Margibi County on the theme, “Lead Where You Are.”  The forum, aimed at teaching the major principles of leadership, took place at the administrative building and brought together participants from all sectors of life.

The exercise was a video cast event with speakers from the United States of America. Similar interaction is being planned for the Executive Pavilion in Monrovia for today, Thursday and Friday (5-6 December).

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the Rev. Dr. Samuel Reeves of the Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia, said the goal of the summit is to create an atmosphere of leadership in Liberia most especially for youths to become good and Godly leaders who will rightly lead Churches, NGOs and government institutions at large.

He said the process of organizing the summit started after he returned from the United States along with Rev. Cooper in 2005, and saw the need to develop young people in the country to become better leaders.

Dr. Reeves, also a lecture of Philosophy at the University of Liberia, he subsequently collaborated with Rev. Cooper and they established the National Leadership Institute which three years ago partnered with the Widow Creek Community Church in Berryton, the United States to bring the Global Leadership Summit, which is currently in more than 150 countries, to Liberia.

He added that they have decided that the summit should not only be a Monrovia’s exercise as it has been in the past five years, noting that hopefully next year, they may extend it to Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
