Grand Cape Mount: Min. Donates To Farmers, Muslims

Lands, Mines and Energy Minister, Eugene Shannon, has donated a 1.5 KVA generator and farming tools to the people of Vonzula and Torsor Towns, Gawula District, Grand Cape Mount County.

Making the presentation last Wednesday, Shannon told the residents that the donation was his own way of identifying and meeting some of their needs in the district.

He said the generator would be used by Muslims of the Vonzula Central Mosque during night time prayers and Adult Literacy Programme at the Vonzula Town Hall for School dropouts.

He then assured the people of Grand Cape Mount that he remains committed to the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) or Lift Liberia.

In a related development, Minister Shannon has undertaken a self help initiative programme aimed at rehabilitating the road from Roberstsport to the St. Trinity Government Hospital in Grand Cape Mount.

The cost of the project is not known, but it is being estimated at several thousands of United States. When completed, it would help alleviate the difficulties being experienced by both health workers and patients in accessing the hospital.

At the sametime, report says the Lands, Mines and Energy Minister is sponsoring the cultivation of over 70 acres of farmland for five deserving farmers of Torsor Town, Grand Cape Mount County.
