GVL Opens School in Butaw

Over 200 children in Butaw,  Sinoe County where expected on Monday, to begin registration at the Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) First Primary School for academic year 2013/2014 on September 9, 2013.

The institution, at which the (GVL) received and attested to establish and provide quality Education for Children of GVL’s employee is situated at the heart of the company’s Wakefield Nursery in Sinoe County.

Golden Veroleum has continued to recruit qualified instructors who will teach these children in accordance with the national curriculum that is prepared by the Liberian Ministry of Education.

The School standard is to be raised, from year- to- year as students improve their formative years to reach Senior High School status. The school is organized by the GVL to ensure and help support the Liberian Government’s and national capacity building endeavors.

Students attending the school will have access to modern library equipments; receive free uniforms, books and other materials. As well as benefits from basic computer skills that is to be acquire before enrolling to Junior High.

According to GVL, more Schools will be constructed along with other community development projects to assist in uplifting the plight of rural Liberian communities. Virgil Magee, spokesman of GVL also brought to knowledge that the company is seeking qualified administrators and teachers from local communities who will want to be part of this process to help make Liberia stronger, also female candidates are encouraged strongly to apply.

Prior to the establishment of the school, the company created an ongoing scholarship program to send Liberian undergraduate students abroad to brighten their skills and return to senior-level positions in the agriculture sector.
