Liberia, U.S. sign $US51.9M Agreement to Strengthen Health System today

The Government of Liberia (GOL) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are expected to today Wednesday, January 27, 2016 sign a new five-year $59.1M fixed amount reimbursement agreement (FARA) to strengthen Liberia’s primary health care service delivery, particularly in the areas of maternal, neonatal and child health.

The signing ceremony is expected to be attended by key stakeholders from the Government of Liberia including the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning; and the Ministry of Justice as well as other local and national officials of the Government of Liberia.

USAID)/Liberia Mission Director Tony Chan will also attend the ceremony and is expected to emphasize how reimbursement based on outputs/results rather than inputs promote performance and accountability.-Press release
