Rep. Isaac Roland Badu with support of Lonestar Cell MTN dedicates health center in Tarwaken Township
Residents of Dedeabo Tarwaken Township, Karluway District, Maryland County have welcomed the dedication of a health center in their area by Lonestar Cell MTN.
The jubilant citizens said they would no longer have to trek for more than 20 kilometers to access healthcare facility, with the dedication of the center by Lonestar Cell.
According to them, the project was completed because of the collaboration of Lonestar Cell MTN’s generous contribution of US$10,000 to Maryland County District #3 Representative Isaac B. Roland, who chairs the House Committee on Post and Telecommunications.
The six-room health facility, according to them, has brought total relief because the long journey to access healthcare has been life-threatening.
They lament that there were various health conditions, including the 20 kilometers walk that have caused the deaths of many people including men, pregnant women, and children.
The Dedeabo Tarwaken Township Clinic, staffed with a doctor, a nurse, a physician’s assistant, and security, will serve 10 thousand residents.
Speaking during the launch, Rep. Roland Blalu appreciated Lonestar Cell MTN for identifying with the people of Dedeabo Tarwaken Township, stressing that the contribution was instrumental in bringing the project to completion.
He promised to pay salaries of workers assigned at the clinic until the Ministry of Health can assume responsibility.
