Lonestar Cell MTN Launches New Products

Lonestar Cell MTN has launched three new services in Liberia for its subscribers. The GSM giant over the weekend launched the ‘Recharge for Others’ – a service that allows subscribers to recharge another Lonestar Cell MTN number, using a scratch card by simply dialling *117* scratch card PIN* recipient phone number, hash and send.

The company has also launched the Internet-Dash: a service which allows a Lonestar Cell MTN customer to use his\her phone to buy an internet bundle for another customer or for tablet’s ipads and Galaxy tabs. The service require the customer to dial*353# and alternatively, one can send any kind of bundle they want, including ‘daily’, ‘weekly or monthly via SMS to short code 353.

SMS-Unlimited was also introduced by the GSM Company. This service allows customers to buy unlimited SMS packages for a given period – daily, weekly or monthly. Customers are required to dial*170# then choose their preferred daily, weekly or monthly  with bundle sold at US$1 for daily, US$2 weekly, and US$5 for a monthly bundle

Lonestar Cell MTN says the trend for multinationals is to produce generic campaigns for use across their markets, often with minimal or no localization. MTN has done the complete opposite with its latest global brand campaign.

According to the MTN Group, the campaign is a reflection of what the MTN brand stands for and sets its brand in a position to learn the delivery of a bold, new digital world to customers.

With this campaign, the Lonestar Cell MTN Marketing Manager Clement Asante Ofori said, “We are boldly declaring our positioning in this changing world, we are not the 1st World, or the 3rd World – We are the New World. We are change, we are the creators of the new world and together with our customers we connect to a world of endless possibilities.”

Clement Asante Ofori He said in MTN context, there’s just one world and it’s a brand new world made possible by its innovative products and services 0 -particularly in the digital space. Mr. Asante said the new global campaign takes into account the local context in Liberia and appreciates the over one million Lonestar Cell MTN subscribers.

He said to give the campaign essence to Liberians, “We have today launched a bouquet of services to give our customers a taste of what this new world entails.”
