Margibi County: CBN Constructs School In Togar Town

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) has completed the construction of a six-classroom school building in Togar Town, Margibi County at the cost of US$33,000.00.

The school, which comprises six classrooms; three offices, one reading room, a kitchen, one hand pump and a four-room pit toilet, in Togar Town, Margibi County near the historic Firestone Plantation Liberia.

According to the focus person of the Christian faith-based group, Rev. Victor Emery David, the construction of the school was made possible through financial assistance from a friendly organization to CBN, Orphans Promise.

He indicated that school is expected to host over 200 students from kindergarten to the primary level of education.

Speaking during the dedicatory ceremony, which brought together several personalities, including Representative R. Saah Gbollie and the President of CBN, Michael Little, Mr. David noted that the building which previously hosted the students prior to the construction was in a deplorable state, something he said created a difficult learning process.

At the same time, the Executive Director of the Concerned Christian Community (CCC), Rev. Kortu Browne has provided over 200 pieces of copy books and 50 pieces of pencils to the students of the school as assistance to the students.

Representative Saah Gbollie  also encouraged students and residents  of Togar Town to protect the facilitates of the school, stressing “because of the love of you and God, people that you’ve never seen  have given their money for a decent building to help you, now is your time to protect these facilitates from damaging.”

Meanwhile, the Principal of the Togar Town Public School, Mr. Prince Matthews has appealed to Representative Gbollie and other permanent citizens for assistance to upgrade the seating capacity and other materials to sustain the institution.

Mr. Matthews further appealed to the Margibi Representative to use his influence to elevate the school to junior level to enable students leaving primary education to continue their learning with ease.
