NEC ends Legal Section forum in Ganta

The National Elections Commission (NEC), Senior Legal practitioners, Senior Technicians and members of the Board of Commissioners (BOC), Wednesday ended a three-day Review exercise of the 2023 Candidate Nomination and Registration Procedures for political parties in Liberia in Ganta City, Nimba County.

With funds from the NEC, the legal practitioners, BOC members, and senior technicians discussed under the theme, “formulating the 2023 Candidates Nomination Procedures” ahead of the 10 October 2023 General Elections in Liberia.

A Statement from the NEC Wednesday, 1 February 2023, said the Legal Section and Hearing Office of the NEC, with support from the Political Affairs Section served as leading facilitators during the Ganta City candidates nomination procedures exercise.

The 35 participants discussed amongst other topics, steps for nominations and procedures, the nomination packages, authorities of political parties who will be allowed to pick up nomination packages, and regulations and guidelines as well as the laws controlling the 2023 elections.
