No plan to shut down operations in Foya -MSF clarifies
The French health charity Medecins Sans Frontieres or MSF has clarified that it has no immediate plan to close down operations in Foya, Lofa County by end of November, contrary to earlier report. MSF says the capacity of its Case Management Center in Foya has been reduced to 10 beds.
In a press release, it says discussion was ongoing with all partners, including the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare on the possibilities of handing over activities. “The CMC is still fully operational”, it assures. The charity had earlier reported that the CMC in Foya would have shutdown, but clarified that the report was an error.
MSF keeps conducting health promotion in the communities and starting trainings in the operational health centers in Foya, Vahun and kolahun”, reads a clarification provided by Communication Officer Laetitia Martin on Monday, December 01, 2014.
