Plenty talk, no action

-Josephine Davies chides Rep. Kolubah

By Lincoln G. Peters

Montserrado County Electoral District #10 representative candidate Josephine Davies has labeled the incumbent district Representative Yekeh Kolubah as “Plenty talk, no action King Kong” lawmaker.

The former Commerce Ministry Inspector General is the representative candidate for the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in Montserrado District #10.

She is one of numerous candidates seeking to replace Mr. Kolubah, a fierce critic of President George Manneh Weah and the CDC regime.

Over the weekend, Madam Davies criticized Mr.  Kolubah for his perceived lack of tangibles.

She accused him of raining insults on his colleagues, including the presidency.

“Ma Cuss and Plenty Talk No Action King Kong, we are tired with your pettiness! We will not agree on every issue. But let us respect our differences and respect one another,” she cautioned.

She suggested that a lawmaker regularly raining insults is against the founding principles of the nation, adding that it is totally unacceptable and embarrassing.

“As a lawmaker, you should recognize that you do not serve your political party; you serve the people, our children, and our country. You must show some decency and civility in our political discourse,” she said.

Madam Davies highlighted specific instances where she claimed Rep. Kolubah failed to deliver on promises to his constituents.

She alleged that Mr. Kolubah lacks the substance needed to effect real change.

Davies cited a lack of significant legislative accomplishments and inadequate representation of the people’s interests as the reasons behind her decision to contest the district seat in the October 2023 elections.

She further emphasized the importance of having an effective leadership capable of initiating meaningful policies and addressing community concerns promptly.

She also suggested the need to have a leadership that collaborates with the other branches of government, precisely the Executive, for the common good and development of the district and its people.
