3 die in motor accident

Doctors have pronounced three persons dead following a tragic motor accident at the new iron gate in Gbarnga, Bong County.
Additional three victims who were in the same vehicle are in very critical condition and have been transferred to the state-owned John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia. 
The tragic accident occurred Tuesday,  22 August 2923 involving young women who were said to be heading for a political campaign tour in favor of incumbent President George Manneh Weah’s second term bid.
Bong County Assistant Commissioner of Police, Fasu Sheriff quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the yellow taxi with plate number unidentified, was coming from Monrovia when it shockingly ran into a truck that I had already picked up from the opposition direction few meters away from the checkpoint. 

Some survivals being taken to hospital

Mr. Sheriff told journalists in Gbarnga that medical doctors at the Phebe hospital pronounced three persons dead few minutes after they were taken there.
The remaining three victims who were in critical condition were immediately transferred to the John F. Kennedy hospital in Monrovia.
This is believed to be the fourth tragic accident case in Gbarnga alone, for the last four months.
The four motor accidents according to report have led to about 12 deaths with all being either a taxi or a motorbike running into parked vehicles.
In early August, four persons who were on motorbike ran into a broken-down truck and they all were pronounced dead a few minutes away from the same spot. 
Also in June, another motorbike ran into a broken-down truck that was parked at the new iron gate, killing two victims.
The situation has raised serious concerns with some citizens blaming the Traffic Police for not properly performing their responsibilities.
However, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Fasu Sheriff has denied the citizens’ claim and blamed drivers for overspeeding.
Following Tuesday’s accident, a press release emerged from a political group alleging six deaths from the incident concerned.
 The group dubbed ‘The George Win 2023 Auxiliary’ said it mourns with the Girls of Weah for the death of Six of its militants in a tragic motor accident while en route to Bong County on campaign purpose.
