Esther and Jeremiahline Medical Hospital

The Esther and Jeremiahline Hospital in Ganta, Nimba County faces serious logistical challenge, including lack of ambulance to respond to emergency cases. The hospital was recently dedicated by Vice President Joseph N. Boakai in Ganta following its construction by Nimba County Representative Jeremiah Kpan Koung.

Chief Administrator Mr. Lawrence Tozoe said the hospital has opened to the public for only eight days, but the influx of patients is overwhelming with cases coming from across the county and neighboring countries, including Guinea.

He said as a result of lack of ambulance, the hospital is constrained to use private vehicles to go pick up patients in villages and towns. Our correspondent in the county, who visited the hospital, said it has modern equipment, but lack of ambulance is challenge. The E and J Hospital brings to 75, the number of health facilities in Nimba County.
