Akon DJ Clarifies Death Rumors in Liberia

Benny D, otherwise known as Big Bad Benny Demus or Akon DJ, has clarified rumors circulating in Liberia that he has passed off. Gossips abound in the entertainment sector here that DJ Benny D was shot dead in America. According to reports, Akon DJ was shot three times in the chest while he was on his way to a musical concert in America.

But responding to the reports, Benny DJ told the New Dawn Newspaper in Liberia that the story is unfounded, clarifying that at no time was he shot by anybody. He said many people fear that he will die because of how he performs on stage.

He described the rumors about his death as a big gossip that lacks truth. DJ Benny D spoke to this paper when he came to Liberia as a guest performer during the African and American Women Peace Concert held at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex or SKD in Paynesville over the week.

Benny noted that he is not a troublemaker and does not get in the way of people that could cause him to be shot. He believes in his fans here and called on them to counter check information before taking it around.

Benny expressed special thanks and appreciation to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who he noted has dedicated time and efforts to see the young people of Liberia prosper. He also praised the organizer of the African and American Women Peace Concert Miss Barku Tubman, for making him to come to Liberia for the second time.

Benn noted that Barku Tubman has made him to choose Liberia as a second home, adding that he was a little hesitant when Barku engaged him to come.“But after she encouraged me and I thought on the way I was taken care of when I first came with Akon, I am choosing Liberia as my second home,” he stated.
