ALP fires back at ANC

By Lincoln G. Peters

The opposition All Liberian Party (ALP), a constituent party of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), has termed the Alternative National Congress (ANC’s) queering outburst against ALP political leader Mr. Benoni W. Urey as lewdly and profanely indecent.

Addressing a press conference Wednesday, 29 September 2021, ALP Deputy Secretary-General Jethro Emmanuel Kolleh said his party remains a mature and serious political party that will not get involved in verbal attacks and exchanges that have no merits but are only geared towards misinforming Liberians and sowing seeds of discord in the CPP.

At a recent press conference, ANC Secretary-General Aloysius Toe spewed invectives on CPP constituent member Mr. Urey and threw disrespectful jabs at the political leaders of other CPP constituent parties including the Liberty Party which currently chairs CPP, and Unity Party.

Mr. Toe had called the press conference to deny allegations that the ANC had altered CPP’s framework document, which has prompted an internal investigation.

But Mr. Kolleh claimed that it was ANC’s usual charade of diversionary tactics whenever it is involved in an unwholesome behavior, alleging that it is a known fact that Mr. Toe criminally notarized a photocopy-version of what was purported to be a framework document of the CPP and submitted it to the National Elections Commission (NEC).

Kolleh disclosed further that the ANC’s action was meant to cover up this grave action of dishonesty, adding that the ALP is not surprised that the ANC chose not to address this issue during its press conference, but dwelled on a smear campaign of misinformation and character assassination against Mr. Urey.

Kolleh claimed that up to date, the ANC has failed to produce the original copy of the framework agreement, adding that it continues to masquerade with photocopy versions of the CPP framework documents.

“That is why we are asking loudly, Cummings and the ANC, WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL COPY OF THE framework documents YOU CLAIM WE ALL SIGNED? But the ALP wishes to emphatically state that it stands by its call for an investigation of the framework documents and it will not be deterred by unsubstantiated lies by the ANC,” Mr. Kolleh vowed.

He indicated that the ALP will make available all of its facts to the investigative committee, and assured the Liberian people that there will be no business as usual regarding this matter.

Mr. Kolleh insisted that the ALP believes very strongly that there were deliberate procedural violations and the content of the document was manipulated in several different ways by the ANC.

“We believe that we will be vindicated and the Liberian people will see the true culprit,” he added.

According to Mr. Kolleh, on 23 June 2020, a legal committee made a presentation in the presence of the political leaders after asking for the lawyers’ assistance in this process and changes were recommended.

According to him, what is not being told is that the entire document was to be rewritten and presented back to the CPP for the constituent political parties to review and seek approval from their various executive committees after which it should have been presented to the political leaders for their signatures.https://thenewdawnliberia.com/cpp-lies-and-deception/–Edited by Winston W.
