Comuim Wins Corporate Tourney

Comium GSM Service provider is the 2010 Champions of the Seys United Methodist Church’s annual one day Corporate Tournament. Comuim was crowned Champions last Friday evening after defeating host Careysburg City one goal to nail in the grand final of the competition.

The final, which witness beautiful Soccer displays from both sides, was played before a record crowd at the Careysburg Sports Pitch outside Monrovia. A goal from Cyrus Miller in the 60th minute was enough to make the Orange boys Champions.

The goal was a result of a Penalty awarded Comium after goal-keeper Michael Sarwee of the host team fouled Cyrus Miller of Comium in the six yard box.

Earlier , in the day’s opening Match, Careysburg City sank Lone Star Cell/MTN 3- 2 to reach the grand final of the competition, while Comium booked her ticket to the final at the expense of Cellcom ,who lost 1-0 in the second match of the day.

This is the first trophy for Comium since the inception of the tournament in 2008. Lone Star Cell/MTN in 2008 captured the first championship title of the tournament, followed by Liber- Cell in 2009. Cellcom suffered a 1-2 defeated to Lone Star Cell/MTN who took third place in the one day Soccer fiesta.

The one day soccer fiesta was graced by an array of soccer fans highly and over shadowed by high profile government Officials, including, Careysburg City Major Benoni Urey, Representative Richard Saah-Gborlie, LFA new Secretary General Idrissa Kaba, as well as the four match officials who had come from Guinea and Sierra Leone for the Liberia-Senegal U-17 youth qualifier.
