President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is demanding “very honest” presentations from her cabinet officials at the 2016 Cabinet Retreat ongoing in Julijuah, Bomi County, stressing that the purpose of the retreat is to look carefully at what government will accomplish in the next 20 months.
“The purpose is to look carefully at what we attempt to accomplish in the next 20 months or so. We like for the meeting to be very focused to be able to identify results in the time frame,” she said in a remark on her farm at Julijuah on Thursday, 25 February.
“We like for people to be very honest in their presentations so we know where the obstacles are,” President Sirleaf added, as she informed officials that government aims to find the means to overcome whatever the challenges are.
As transition gets closer, President Sirleaf says she wants officials in her cabinet to see themselves as team players to enable the government achieve its objectives in a collective fashion. She said the aim is toward accomplishing something for which everyone will be able to take credit and say “we were able to get this done in the time frame.”
