FA Asks To Reconsider Decision

The Sports Writers in Liberia (SWAL) have asked the Liberia Football Association to reconsider its decision to ban for 2 years Momolu V.O. Sireleaf, Secretary General of the Invincible Eleven Football Club.

The ban comes in the aftermath of Sirleaf’s hot criticism against the Musa Bility’s administration accusing it of receiving bribe from the Asian Football Association President, Mohammed Bin Hammam for vote during the just ended controversial FIFA’s congress, which was rocked by corruption allegations among members of the executive committee.

Sirleaf accused Bility of extending the bribe money to the Executive Committee members of the FA. But in its June 7 meeting, the FA Executive Committee did not take the criticism of Sirleaf kindly. The FA unanimously agreed to slap him with 2-yrs suspension from all football activities here.

But Sirleaf, the former head of SWAL was last Thursday seen at ATS during the match between Nimba FC and Mighty Barrolle. He vowed not to respect the kangaroo decision of the FA on ground that he did nothing wrong.

He told this paper Sunday that there was no communication to that effect and if there was any, he will not respect and will continue to witness games at any venue of the FA.
