Former Cuttington Prexy on Agric Investment
Former Cuttington University President Henrique Flomo Tokpa is admonishing Liberians to invest in agriculture as a way of diversifying the economy. Dr. Tokpa told journalists recently in Gbarnga, Bong County that the extensive planting of cash and food crops for the next five years would immensely boost the economy.
The former Cuttington University President, also a prominent citizen of Bong County now engaged in large scale farming in the County, also recommended government support in the area of providing fertilizers and pesticides, as well as better extension services to capacitate that sector.
Dr. Tokpa also disagreed with widespread assertions that laziness on the part of Liberians was discouraging productivity in the agriculture sector of the country.
He blamed the stagnant Liberian agriculture sector on the lack of implements and resources to farmers.
