Gates Agapé Ministries Celebrates 31st Anniversary

… and consecration of its first Bishop-elect, Rev. Mth. Davidetta D.A.G. Tarnue

The Advisory Board, National Executive Council and the Congregation of the Gates Agapé Ministries are pleased to announce its annual weeklong festival, commemorating the church’s 31st anniversary. Highlighting this year’s anniversary celebrations will be the induction and consecration of its National Overseer and Bishop-Elect, the Reverend Mother Davidetta D. A. G. Tarnue and the dedication of the church’s new edifice.

These glorious activities will be celebrated all this week thru Sunday, December 18, 2022, comprising conference activities during the morning hours and revival series during the evening hours, 6 pm-8 pm up to Thursday, December 15.

On the morning of Friday, December 16, 9 am-12 pm, there will be a parade for the Bishop-elect and at 6-9 pm that evening, a banquet held for the Bishop-elect.

On Saturday, December 17 at 8:30 am, Rev. Mother Tarnue will be inducted into the bishopric in a one-hour invitation-only service, after which she will be consecrated in a service that will be open to the public, beginning at 10 am.

About Bishop-elect Tarnue

On December 16, 2021, after many years of faithful service as National Overseer, Rev. Mth. Tarnue was elected by the National Executive Council, Pastors and Ministers of the Gates Agape Ministries/Church as the First Presiding Bishop of the Ministry.

In her chosen career as a professional teacher, having graduated from the Kakata Rural Teacher Training Institute (KRTTI), she served various schools, providing professional and quality education to the young people of our nation, some of whom have become ministers, Directors, Lawmakers, Businessmen and Women, Lay-Leaders, prelates, and Diplomats.  Those schools included the Haywood Mission Institute, R. C. Lawson High School, and the Seventh Day Adventist High School, where she served as Vice Principal for Elementary and Student Affairs.

In her ecumenical capacity, Bishop-Elect Tarnue has worked with many other national and international organizations and groups to foster the peace and leadership of Liberia. She is a founding member and served as the First Vice President of the Liberia Fellowship of Full Gospel Ministers and Ministries; a founding member of the National Prayer Committee of Liberia, IGLO (Praise Ministry); a founding member of the Church of Liberia, a member of the Gates of Heaven Assembly of Churches USA and the Liaison Officer for Liberia.

She also served as Vice President of the Youth Congress of the St. Paul River District, United Methodist Church and was first ordained as Lay-leader and later Lay-pastor at the McIntosh Grove United Methodist Church in Bentol (Bensonville City), along with Rev. Dr. Jervis Witherspoon, Chief of Protocol, Republic of Liberia. With a humble heart, she was ordained for the second time as Pastor and Reverend under the Stewardship of Rev. Patrick K. Nepay, her spiritual father and mentor. She became the Head Pastor and National Overseer of Gates Agape Ministries. Under her leadership, through the wisdom of God, the Ministry has grown from a single Church to six churches in Liberia and one in the United States of America.
