Two strikers of the Lone Star of Liberia are expected to rub boots against each other this weekend in the Greek Super League. Liberian striker Sekou Oliseh Jabateh will come face to face with his partner Herron Scarla Berrian when PAOK FC hosts Platania FC in the 5th round of the Greek’s 2013/2014 domestic league season.
PAOK is 2nd on the league table with nine points, behind league leader Olympiakos Piraeus from four matches, while Berran’s Platania FC drew all four matches played this season, sitting 13th on the 18 teams’ league table. Herron, who affixed his signature to a four-year deal for Platania FC, hopes to display his fantastic scoring skills for his new club.
Due to the player’s fantastic efforts in training, scoring some incredible goals that lured officials of Platania FC to affix their signatures to a deal that will be sealed until the end of the summer of 2017. Speaking from Greece via mobile phone, he stressed his ambition to score more goals for his employer.
“I came here to play football and score more goals; my concentration now is to play more games and prove my worth to the family and fans of Platania FC”, Berrian said, and continued, “I love the fans; they make me feel at home, I will do all I can to pay them back with victories.”
In the pending weekend match, the lad noted that it will be a difficult task away to PAOK, saying, “They are currently sitting 2nd place; we need to play with our all to collect all three points.”
Liberia ball juggler Jabateh, who played just eight minutes as a substitute for PAOK against Veria in their 2-1 away win over the weekend, will be hoping to get a full playing time against his compatriot.
The Liberian got a year loan with the Greek club from the Russian club CSKA Moscow to enable to enable him recapture his previous form, but it seems that his chances are now limited by falling behind Brazilian Lucas in the picking order.
