LFA Appoints Mobilization Committee

The local football house has constituted the mobilization committee to raise funds for the national team’s qualifying rounds for the Africa Nations’ Cup and the 2012 Olympic Games.

A release from the LFA signed by its Press Officer Henry Flomo says LFA president Musa Bility has expressed unequivocal confidence in the committee members to source cash and kind to support activities of the national team over the period of the two competitions.

The team is headed by Dew Mason as Chairman, and Maritime Bureau boss Beyan Kesselley as co-chairman. LFA Director of projects Paye Kulah serves as secretary to the committee.

Other members are: Eugene Shannon- minister of Lands and Mines, Richard Tolbert- president of IE, Hon. Edwin Snowe- former president of the LFA,McDonald Wintoe,  Medina Wesseh and Rockefeller Finley-manager, Coca Cola Liberia.

Others are Businessman George Haddad, Businessman Tony Hage,   Julia Duncan Cassell-president of the Mighty Barrollee, T-Nelson Williams-Head of LPRC,  Benina Urey- Mayor Careysburg,  Steve Davies-FIFA Player Agent, Alhadji Kromah- former president of Mighty Barrollee, and Joe Baber-AfroPA

Executive committee member and chairman of the media, marketing and sponsorship committee Ansu Dolleh serves as ex-officio on the mobilization committee. The mandate of the committee takes immediate effect, with the first meeting scheduled for 3pm this Friday at the LFA.

In other developments, a four-day trial out games begins Wednesday August 11, 2010 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium. The tournament involves professionals recalled by coach Batarlan  Bicskei, Asian based, George Weah 11, Lone Star A and B and the Under-20 team.

On Wednesday, U-20 meets National team B, beginning at 2PM, while National team A takes on Foreign based at 4PM. On Thursday, National team A versus National Team B. Foreign based side will meet Asian based in the last match.

The tournament continues on Friday with U-20 meeting National team B, and Asian based meeting George Weah 11. On the final day, Sunday, National team B meets Asian based and the National team A and George Weah 11 will close the day.

National team A and B are collections of local based players assembled by coach Bicskei, they have ever since been camping at the SKD sport complex outside Monrovia.

Nine international players recalled by coach Batarlan  Bicskei have arrived in the country ahead of the trial out games. Patrick Doeplah of Israel, Ben Teekloh of Romania, Dioh Williams of Denmark, George Baysah of Israel,  David Gbemie, Amadaiya Rennie of Sweden, Anthony Lafor of South Africa, Melvin King of Ghana  and Alex Karmo of Kenya are currently retired at the Ocean View Hotel in Monrovia.
Mali based Omega Roberts is expected in Wednesday from Ghana.

The Africa Nations’ cup qualifiers begin September 5 with Liberia hosting Zimbabwe. The next game is in Bamako against Mali, second weekend in October. The under-23 side of Liberia travels to Sierra Leone the same weekend to play that country in the leg of their preliminary matches of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
