LSCI wants contract back

The Liberia Services Corporation, Incorporated – a local contractor, is demanding the Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation or MCC, Madam Clara Doe Mvogo, to restore a contract signed and awarded them.

According to the General Manager of LSCI, Leon Elliott, in 2012, his company signs a contract with the City Mayor at the time, Mary T. Borh, for five years for packing fees in the city of Monrovia, and that since then, they have been working.

But when the new City Mayor took over, he claimed, she said the city was being cheated with the revenue generation, further claiming that according to the contract they signed with the Mayor Borh at the time, 15 % would go to the Monrovia City Corporation, while 85% would be kept by the Liberia Services Corporation.

speaking yesterday when the group gathered before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the President’s Office, to seek redress from President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Elliott, he said some three weeks ago, Monrovia City Mayor Mvogo ordered the city Police to ‘chase’ them from the streets, saying that the contract was over.

He alleged that some of the company’s staff were manhandled by the Monrovia City Police. According to him, the action of the Monrovia City Mayor putts a lot of young people out of job and frustrating them.
Also speaking to this paper, some employees of the LSCI said  After standing for a few hours before the Foreign Ministry, the president invited them for a meeting through their leadership, for hours of discussion with her officials, following which they promised to look into their case and get back to them.
