Nimba County: PYJ rallies for Professor Francis Maweah

As campaign intensifies in Ganta

Nimba County Senator and ex-warlord Prince Yormie Johnson has called on the people of Nimba to vote for Professor Francis Maweah, who is vying to represent electoral district #1 on November 16, 2021 by-election.

According to Senator Johnson, district number one in the face of Nimba County, so it needs someone good who has quantity education and experience to represent the district in the House.

PYJ has dominated Nimba politics since 2005, twice becoming kingmaker for the Presidency, and has been in the senate from that time to the present.

He wields high influence among his kinsmen and prides himself as godfather of Nimba politics.

The New Dawn gathers that a total of six candidates are vying in the district one (Ganta) by-election with only one female in the race.

They include Samuel Brown, Independent Candidate; Professor Francis Maweah of Senator PYJ’s Movement for Democracy and Reconciliation (MDR) party; Cllr. Lawrence Sua of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) and Larry Teah of the United People’s Party. Others are Rev. Z. Lakpoh Dahn of the Liberia Restoration Party and the only female candidate Abigail Laikarnue Kou Freeman, all battling to occupy the vacant seat created by the election of ex-Representative Jeremiah Koung to the Liberian Senate in the December 8, 2020, special senatorial election.https://thenewdawnliberia.com/pyj-campaigns-in-nimba/ Editing by Jonathan Browne
